BEST START IN LIFE

When the Department of Health and Social Care launched Best Start in Life, a new government information hub to support parents from pregnancy through to starting school, they tasked us to create an emotionally powerful launch film that felt as imaginative as it was informative.

Collaborating with Freuds, we developed The Story of You, a poetic children’s tale written by Camilla Reid and illustrated by Rob Biddulph, brought to life through a mix of live-action and animation.

We filmed a host of well-known parents and creators, including Oti Mabuse, Billie Shepherd, Tay Kabs, Ms Apple, childhood expert Professor Sam Wass, and even Mummy Pig, each reading a verse from the story. Shot on greenscreen in our content studio, each performance was carefully edited and animated to form one seamless narrative.

We handled the full production from concept to delivery to create the final result: a 90-second hero film and a suite of digital-first assets that celebrate the joys and challenges of early parenthood while guiding families to BestStartinLife.gov.uk for trusted advice and resources.

The film helped launch a campaign designed to empower parents with confidence and connection from day one.
