NHS START FOR LIFE
For NHS Start for Life, we were commissioned to help parents build healthy dental habits from the very beginning. The brief was clear but challenging: communicate best-practice oral care for babies and toddlers in a way that felt practical, human and easy to follow, not clinical or patronising.
We created a warm, naturalistic film led by NHS GP Dr Sara Kayat, filmed alongside her own six-month-old daughter. Shot and edited in a “life in a day” style, the piece blends playful domestic moments with clear demonstrations of brushing baby teeth, using split screen to layer advice, action and personality. By grounding NHS guidance in real family life, the film turns expert instruction into something parents can instantly relate to and trust.
The result is a piece of health content that feels lived-in, reassuring and credible. Used across NHS Start for Life platforms, the film helps normalise early dental care, empowering parents with simple habits that prevent tooth decay and support lifelong oral health, proof that clarity, warmth and craft can make public health advice truly stick.
